Who can Join?
We held our first Introduction Meeting this year on October 17, 2024 from 6:30-7:30pm in Buchanan Hall 1940 (if you were unable to make this meeting, refer to these meeting slides).

We are looking for students at UCSB who are interested in learning how to file personal income taxes. You do not have to be an Economics and Accounting major, all majors are welcome to join. No previous tax knowledge is required.
If you are a community member looking to get involved, reach out and we will connect you with United Way to volunteer at other VITA locations all throughout Santa Barbara County.
How to Join

Pass exams
Volunteers must pass exams and obtain IRS certifications in:
1) Ethics
2) Intake Form

Schedule your volunteer hours
Once certified you will be provided with a schedule to sign up.

Attend trainings or complete self-paced trainings

Submit your certifications
To ensure all volunteers are certified you must submit your certifications. Submission form will open in Jan 2025.
